The University of Ghana (UG) has given applicants who sat for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) until September 8, 2026, to review their applications for admission to the University.
This follows the release of the 2026 WASSCE results, which allows applicants awaiting their results to reassess their programme choices and ensure that the details provided in their applications are accurate.
In a notice issued on September 5, the University’s Academic Affairs Directorate asked applicants to return to the admissions portal to review their applications.
“Following the release of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results, applicants to the University of Ghana (UG) are advised to log in again to the UG applications portal,” the statement said.
Applicants have been asked to check the accuracy of their full names and dates of birth, as well as examination details such as their index numbers, examination months and examination years.
UG also advised applicants to consider the University’s previous admission cut-off aggregates when reviewing their programme choices.
“Refer to the UG 2025/2026 entry cut-off aggregates for various programmes and make realistic choices,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, prospective students who have not yet submitted applications still have an opportunity to apply for admission.
“Please note that applications for 2026/2027 admissions are still open for applicants with WASSCE results,” the statement said.
Interested applicants may purchase application e-vouchers from designated banks or use the USSD codes *772*100# or *776*108# on all mobile telecommunication networks to apply to selected programmes.
UG said applicants have until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, to complete the process.
“The application portal will be closed at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026,” the statement said.
