The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Engineers have completed the clearing of 175.6 kilometres of right of way for the Accra–Kumasi Expressway, finishing the assignment ahead of the estimated schedule.
According to the GAF, the exercise was completed in 19 weeks, one week ahead of the 20-week timeline initially estimated for the work.
“Mission Accomplished! 175.6 km right of way cleared on the Accra-Kumasi Expressway. 19 weeks out of the estimated 20 weeks,” the GAF stated.
The development marks the completion of the right-of-way clearing assignment undertaken by the military engineers as part of preparations for the Accra–Kumasi Expressway project.
The announcement also highlighted the contribution of the Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson; Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza; and Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, alongside the Ghana Armed Forces.
Celebrating the achievement, the GAF Engineers described the successful completion as an example of engineering excellence and timely delivery.
“GAF Engineers – One Step Ahead!” the message accompanying the announcement read.
It further stated: “Ghana Armed Forces – Excellence, Professionalism, We dare to win!!!”
The accompanying message also described the exercise as “delivering on mission ahead of schedule” and emphasised “engineering excellence.”
The completion of the 175.6-kilometre clearing exercise represents a key preparatory step for work along the proposed Accra–Kumasi Expressway corridor.
