The Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Eric Edem Agbana, has launched a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training programme aimed at improving teaching quality and leadership across schools in the constituency.
The initiative, which aligns with the National Teaching Council’s (NTC) 2025 CPD guidelines, is expected to benefit about 1,200 teachers and education staff from public basic schools, senior high schools, and the Municipal Education Directorate.
In a statement announcing the programme, Mr. Agbana described teachers as the foundation of quality education and community transformation.
“By empowering our educators, we are investing in the future of our children and building a stronger constituency for generations to come,” he stated.
The training programme will be delivered through a series of workshops focused on improving classroom management, leadership effectiveness, learner assessment, and teaching outcomes.
According to the statement, the programme is being facilitated by Bismark Tay Leadership Solutions (BTLS), an internationally recognised and accredited training provider with expertise in teacher development and educational leadership.
The workshops will cover different focus areas for various categories of participants.
For basic school teachers, sessions will focus on positive discipline, classroom management, learner assessment, and test item preparation.
Senior high school teachers will receive training on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve teaching and learning, while education office staff and administrators will be trained in educational leadership and people management.
The workshop schedule begins on May 18, 2026, for basic school teachers, followed by sessions for senior high school teachers from June 2 to June 5, while administrative and education office staff will undergo training on June 10, 2026.
Mr. Agbana encouraged teachers, headteachers, education officers, and stakeholders to fully participate in the programme to help improve educational standards in the constituency.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen teacher capacity and improve learning outcomes in schools across Ketu North.
