The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted a teacher of Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region following the circulation of a video on social media allegedly involving the teacher and a student.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, GES said it had become aware of the disturbing video and had immediately commenced investigations into the alleged incident.
Pending the outcome of the investigations, the Service announced that the teacher had been interdicted in accordance with its rules and regulations.
“Management has initiated investigations into the matter. Pending the outcome of the investigations, Management directs that the teacher is interdicted in accordance with GES rules and regulations,” the statement said.
GES reiterated its zero-tolerance policy on sexual misconduct involving teachers and students, stressing that such conduct constitutes a serious breach of professional ethics.
“Management strongly condemns all forms of amorous relationships between teachers and students. The Service reiterates its zero-tolerance towards sexual misconduct and cautions all staff to uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and conduct at all times,” it stated.
The Service further assured parents, students, and the general public of its commitment to protecting learners and maintaining a safe school environment.
According to GES, appropriate disciplinary and legal action will be taken against any individual found culpable after investigations are concluded.
“Management remains committed to ensuring the safety, protection, and well-being of all students within the educational system. Appropriate disciplinary and legal action will be taken against any individual found culpable,” the statement added.
GES also urged the public to allow the investigative process to run its course, assuring that further updates would be provided where necessary.
