The Gunners made the brighter start and took the lead in the sixth minute through Kai Havertz. PSG drew level in the 65th minute when Ousmane Dembele converted from the penalty spot. Neither side could find a winner in the remaining minutes or in extra time, sending the game to penalties.
In the shootout, PSG gained the edge when Arsenal defender Gabriel blasted his effort over the bar after Lucas Beraldo had converted to put the French side ahead. PSG held their nerve to seal back-to-back Champions League titles.
The defeat denied Arsenal the chance to add a European crown to their season after winning the Premier League title, while PSG’s victory confirmed their growing dominance on the continental stage.
