The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has inaugurated the Eric and Auriol Earle Learning Centre at Kodzobi D/A Basic School in the Adaklu District of the Volta Region to improve educational infrastructure and promote literacy among pupils.
The facility forms part of efforts to provide children with a better learning environment and strengthen basic education in the community.

The project was supported by the Earle family, particularly the four children of Eric and Auriol Earle, who grew up in Ghana and have returned to contribute to educational development in the Volta Region.
Speaking at the inauguration, Hon. Gunu described the project as a meaningful investment in education, noting that improved learning infrastructure was essential to promoting literacy and creating better opportunities for children.
He expressed appreciation to the Earle family for their generosity and commitment to supporting education in Ghana.
The Regional Minister particularly commended the four children of Eric and Auriol Earle for maintaining their connection with Ghana and giving back to the country where they spent part of their childhood.
The learning centre is expected to support literacy development and provide an improved environment for teaching and learning at Kodzobi D/A Basic School.
Hon. Gunu also reaffirmed the Volta Regional Coordinating Council’s commitment to collaborating with development partners, philanthropists and other stakeholders to improve educational facilities across the region.

He stressed the importance of partnerships in addressing educational infrastructure needs and ensuring that children, particularly those in underserved communities, have access to better learning opportunities.
