A twenty-member delegation from the United Kingdom Royal College of Defence Studies Global Strategy Programme has paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, at Parliament House in Accra.
The visit was facilitated by the Ghana Armed Forces as part of the delegation’s International Study Tour in Ghana from Saturday, May 16 to Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The delegation was led by the Commandant of the College, Lieutenant General Sir George Norton (Retired).
The study tour is being held under the theme “Security, Stability and Prosperity at the Grand Strategic Level.”
During the meeting, Speaker Bagbin shared insights on Ghana’s democratic journey, parliamentary processes, and the country’s strategic vision for security and development.
The delegation expressed appreciation for the opportunity to learn from Ghana’s experience in strengthening democratic institutions and contributing to regional stability.
The engagement also highlighted the link between parliamentary democracy and national security, giving the visiting strategists insight into Ghana’s governance and security architecture.
The visit reaffirms the strong relations between Ghana and the United Kingdom, particularly in defence, strategic studies, and institutional cooperation.
The delegation was accompanied by a liaison officer and a press team from the Ghana Armed Forces.
