President John Dramani Mahama has announced that the government will soon begin the construction and rehabilitation of roads and other major infrastructure projects in Zongo communities across the country.
The President made the announcement while joining the Muslim community for the National Eid-ul-Adha prayers at the Black Star Square in Accra.
Addressing worshippers, President Mahama assured residents that no community would be left behind in the government’s development agenda.
“No community will be left behind in our national development agenda,” he said, reaffirming the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure, sanitation, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities in Zongo communities nationwide.
The President also used the occasion to call on Ghanaians to uphold the values of sacrifice, compassion, peace, tolerance, and national unity, which underpin the Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
He further commended the Ghana Hajj Board and all stakeholders involved in organising this year’s pilgrimage, praising their efforts in ensuring a smooth and successful 2026 Hajj.
The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, offered prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity for Ghana.
He also expressed appreciation to President Mahama for the government’s support, which he said contributed significantly to the successful organisation of this year’s Hajj operations.
The Eid-ul-Adha prayers brought together Muslim leaders, government officials, and thousands of worshippers from across the country in a celebration of faith, sacrifice, and national cohesion.
