The Ministry of Education has cautioned parents and candidates against paying money to individuals who promise to secure or change placements under the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).
In a statement signed by Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu on September 15, 2026, the Ministry stressed that school placement under the CSSPS is free.
“CSSPS placement is free. No parent or candidate is required to pay money to secure a placement or to have a placement changed,” the Ministry said.
It further urged parents and guardians with credible evidence of individuals demanding money in connection with school placement to report them to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.
The directive covers alleged demands involving officials of the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, CSSPS Secretariat, Ghana Technical Vocational Education and Training, as well as third parties.
The Ministry assured parents and guardians who report such cases that their identities would be protected.
The warning comes as the Ministry prepares to establish a Technical Working Committee to undertake a comprehensive review of the placement process after the conclusion of the current exercise.
The review is expected to identify areas requiring improvement and recommend measures to strengthen transparency and accountability within the CSSPS.
