Ghana and Italy are moving to deepen cooperation in education following a high-level meeting between the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, and Italy’s Ambassador to Ghana, Laura Ranalli.
The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in tertiary education, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), research, innovation, scholarships and student exchange programmes.
The engagement also highlighted possible partnerships between Ghanaian universities and the University of Padua, one of Europe’s oldest and most respected universities.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to strengthening skills development, academic excellence and international research cooperation.
The development is expected to open new opportunities for students, universities and researchers in Ghana, especially in the areas of international exchange, innovation and capacity-building.
It also reflects growing efforts by the Ministry of Education to build strategic partnerships that can support reforms and improve learning outcomes across different levels of the education sector.
