The Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, has called for a change in Ghana’s education system, urging schools to focus on real-life skills instead of just academic performance.
Speaking at the 95th anniversary of Accra Academy, he said education should prepare students for life, not only for passing exams.
“We should not engage in education for the sake of passing exams and collecting academic laurels,” he said.
He explained that the goal of education is to help people build a better life through knowledge and practical skills.
According to him, true education should develop the whole person.
“Our education model should nurture our hearts to take wise counsel, steady our heads to ride all storms, and train our hands to excel,” he said.
He added that education must produce individuals who can think, act, and lead effectively in society.
Mr Agyebeng encouraged students to focus on learning skills that will help them succeed beyond the classroom and contribute to national development.
He said such an approach is key to building strong future leaders and driving innovation in the country.
The message formed part of his address to students and staff during the anniversary celebration, where he urged young people to take their education seriously and use it to shape their future.
