In a spirited show of support for sports, Dr. Sylvester Nyamekye has donated training equipment to the Greater Accra Branch of the Ghana Bar Association (GA/GBA) Soccer Team. Dr. Nyamekye, who is a member of the Greater Accra Branch of the Ghana Bar Association, presented two sets of training bibs in lemon green and blue, as well as a set of football jerseys emblazoned with the bold inscription “G.B.A. (Greater Accra).”
The donation was made in response to a request from team members, who emphasised the need for proper training gear to enhance their preparation for upcoming games especially during Annual Bar Conferences. Dr. Nyamekye pledged his support during a meeting on October 13, 2024, where he expressed his commitment to fostering team spirit and unity within the GA/GBA.
He expressed hope that the newly donated gear will aid the team in their preparations for next year’s competitions and beyond, stating, “It is my wish and hope that this will go a long way to assist the team in its preparation for the games next year as well as any other game. GOD BLESS YOU.”
As the GA/GBA Soccer Team gears up for their training, the community looks forward to their progress on and off the field, united by a shared passion for the sports and camaraderie.
This act of generosity is not an isolated incident. Dr. Nyamekye recently demonstrated his philanthropic spirit by donating desks to his alma mater, Mfantsipim School, the 2024 champions of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), when the institution called for support with furniture. His commitment to giving back to the community and nurturing future generations is evident in both endeavours.
