Ghana’s home jersey for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been ranked the best kit ahead of the tournament, adding to growing global attention around the Black Stars’ appearance on football’s biggest stage.
According to a report by The New York Times, Ghana’s Kente-inspired home shirt was rated the number one jersey among kits released for the competition.

The report praised the design for its bold and distinctive look, describing it as visually striking and culturally rich. It noted that the shirt draws inspiration from Kente, the traditional Ghanaian handwoven fabric, whose origins are often linked to patterns inspired by the Anansi spider in Ghanaian folklore.
Although the Black Stars have worn the jersey only once so far, in the friendly match against Austria in March, it is already attracting wide attention and admiration.
The Puma-designed kit is expected to remain part of Ghana’s lineup throughout the year and could feature again at the World Cup if the Black Stars progress beyond the group stage.
The report also said Ghana will wear its alternative yellow jersey in all three of its group-stage matches.
Brazil’s yellow home kit was ranked second, while England’s white-and-red Nike jersey placed third. Germany came fourth, with Morocco completing the top five.
The recognition of Ghana’s jersey is likely to delight many fans, as it places Ghanaian culture and design in the global spotlight ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
