The Vice-President of Ghana has commissioned a new ICT Centre in Sankana in the Nadowli-Kaleo District of the Upper West Region to expand access to technology and digital learning.
The facility, known as the Pognaa Piirima Maaluma ICT Centre, was unveiled as part of activities marking the Kalibi Ganlaa Festival.
Expanding Access to Technology
The Vice-President noted that access to technology opens pathways to knowledge, broadens opportunities and strengthens economic participation.
She added that digitally connected communities are better positioned to compete and innovate in today’s world.
Support for Students and Community
The ICT Centre is expected to benefit schoolchildren and the wider community by providing shared access to computers, reliable internet connectivity and digital learning resources.
It will also offer training and technical support to help users build digital skills.
Boost for Digital Inclusion
The initiative forms part of efforts to improve digital inclusion and ensure that communities have access to modern technology.
