Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has extended Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to the Muslim community in Ghana, urging citizens to uphold the values of discipline, sacrifice and moral renewal.
The Vice President made the call after joining the Ahlus Sunna Muslim community for prayers at the forecourt of the State House.
In a Facebook post following the event, she encouraged Ghanaians to reflect on the lessons of Ramadan and build strong character, stressing the need for citizens to reaffirm their responsibilities to society.
She noted that the holy month serves as a reminder of the shared values that unite the nation, promoting cohesion and peaceful coexistence.
The Vice President joined the prayers in the company of Imams, clerics and other members of the public, highlighting the importance of togetherness during such national and religious occasions.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang also called for peace in Ghana and across the world, expressing hope that Eid would bring joy to families, peace to homes, and strengthen unity and harmony in the country.
