The Volta Regional Minister on Monday, February 16, 2026, led a delegation to the Keta Municipality to cut sod for major educational infrastructure projects at Tsiame Senior High Technical School and Atiavi Senior High School.
The Minister was accompanied by the Member of Parliament for Keta, Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey, the Municipal Chief Executive, Wisdom Bondzie Seade, former MP for Keta Dan Kwasi Abodakpi, officials from the Municipal Education Directorate, traditional authorities and community leaders.
Transformational Projects at Tsiame SHTS
At Tsiame Senior High Technical School, sod was cut for a comprehensive package of projects aimed at expanding infrastructure and improving student welfare. The projects include:
- A two-storey dormitory block with courtyard
- A three-storey 18-unit classroom block
- A dining hall with kitchen
- Four semi-detached two-bedroom staff bungalows
- A three-bedroom headmaster’s bungalow
- A 1.4-kilometre perimeter fence wall with gates
Officials indicated that the new facilities are expected to address accommodation challenges, enhance campus security and reduce congestion in classrooms.
Dining Facility for Atiavi SHS
The delegation later proceeded to Atiavi Senior High School, where sod was cut for the construction of a modern dining hall equipped with a fully functional kitchen.
The facility is expected to improve feeding arrangements and student welfare at the school.
Focus on Education Development
Addressing stakeholders, the Regional Minister reaffirmed that education remains a priority in the Volta Region, noting that infrastructure development plays a key role in improving academic delivery and creating a conducive learning environment.
He expressed appreciation to traditional authorities, school management, education officials and residents of Keta for their support.
The projects form part of ongoing efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure across the region, with authorities stating that the investments will contribute to long-term improvements in access, quality and student outcomes.
