Adisadel College and Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School have emerged winners in the boys’ and girls’ categories respectively at the Central Regional Cybersecurity Quiz Competition.
The competition, organised as part of activities marking Africa Safer Internet Day (ASID) 2026, was initiative of the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) in collaboration with the C-Quansah Foundation.
The competition was to promote awareness of online safety and responsible internet use among young people.
Six senior high schools from the Central Region, comprising three boys’ schools and three girls’ schools, participated in the contest, where students tested their knowledge of cybersecurity, digital safety and responsible online behaviour.
After three intense rounds, Adisadel College secured victory in the boys’ category with 36 points, while Mfantsiman Girls’ Senior High School won the girls’ contest with 39 points.


The competition formed part of this year’s Africa Safer Internet Day celebration, held under the theme “Together for a Safer Africa Online: AU Online Safety Policy in Action.”
Addressing participants at the event, officials from the Cyber Security Authority emphasised the importance of protecting young people as Ghana advances its digital transformation agenda.
They noted that cyber threats such as cyberbullying, online fraud, sextortion and misinformation are becoming increasingly sophisticated, making digital awareness, cybersecurity education and responsible internet use essential.
The Authority reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding Ghana’s cyberspace through enforcement, partnerships and continuous public education, stressing that empowering young people with digital safety knowledge is crucial to building a resilient digital society.

The event brought together students, educators and key stakeholders in the Central Region, highlighting the growing importance of cybersecurity education in schools.
Organisers expressed appreciation to the Central Regional Minister, Hon. Ekow Panyin Okyere Eduamoah, the Oguaa Omanhene, Osabarimba Kwesi Ataa II, the C-Quansah Foundation and other partners for supporting the initiative.
They noted that such engagements are essential in building a safer and more secure digital environment for Ghana and the African continent.
