Kwame Nkrumah Hall and Adehye Hall have been crowned champions in the male and female categories respectively at the 55th Inter-Hall Athletics Competition of the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
The competition, held at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium, brought together halls of residence in a spirited display of athleticism, discipline and sportsmanship.
In the men’s division, Kwame Nkrumah Hall finished first, followed by Valco Hall in second place. ATL Hall secured third position, with Casford Hall placing fourth. Valco Hall Trust (GRASAG), Oguaa Hall and SRC Hall also earned commendable positions.
In the women’s division, Adehye Hall dominated the competition to secure the overall title. Kwame Nkrumah Hall placed second, while Valco Hall and ATL Hall finished third and fourth respectively. Oguaa Hall and Valco Hall Trust took fifth and sixth places.
Adehye Hall’s victory was further highlighted by record-breaking performances in the 1500m, 5000m, 200m and discus events.
Dean of Students, Prof. Daniel Apaak, praised the athletes for their outstanding performances and commended both competitors and spectators for maintaining discipline throughout the competition.
He assured the athletes of the University’s continued support, noting that management would provide the necessary encouragement to enable them to keep the UCC flag flying high.
