Australian Scholarships Open; Ghanaian Students Eligible

The scholarship offer under the Australia Awards has officially opened, with Ghanaian students among those eligible to apply.

What the Scholarship Covers

Australia Awards Scholarships fund the minimum period required to complete an approved academic programme at participating Australian universities and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions.

• A one-time establishment allowance for accommodation and study materials
• A fortnightly Contribution to Living Expenses (CLE)
• Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of study

Scholars are also required to complete a compulsory Introductory Academic Program (IAP) prior to beginning formal studies.

Mandatory Return Clause

Successful applicants must sign a contract with the Commonwealth of Australia agreeing to the scholarship conditions.

A central requirement is that awardees return to their home country for a minimum of two years after completing their studies. Failure to comply results in repayment of the total cost of the scholarship.
