The Yale School of Management (SOM), the graduate business school of Yale University, has appointed Togbe Afede XIV as Chairman of its Council of Global Advisors, effective February 16, 2026.
The Yale SOM Council of Global Advisors is composed of global leaders who provide strategic guidance to the Dean and the school’s senior leadership on expanding the institution’s brand and international reach.
Members of the Council actively shape discussions, contribute expertise and support key initiatives of the school. The advisory body includes both alumni and non-alumni drawn from a diverse range of countries and professional backgrounds.
According to the School, Togbe Afede XIV’s appointment is based on his “admirable leadership, experience, life and career.”
As Chairman, he will work with a distinguished group of leaders who advise the school’s leadership on advancing its core strategic priorities. His role will include helping to shape the Council’s agenda, guiding member engagement and overseeing the overall direction of the advisory body.
He will also collaborate closely with the Dean of Yale SOM, Professor Kerwin Charles, and other senior leaders to strengthen the school’s global influence.
The School noted that Togbe Afede XIV’s insights are expected to help expand student recruitment across regions, increase global awareness of Yale SOM’s mission and impact, and deepen partnerships with organisations worldwide.
He will serve a three-year term, with the possibility of renewal, and will also serve as an ex-officio member of the Yale SOM Board of Advisors.
