The Ladies in Parliamentary Service (LiPS), in collaboration with the Women’s Caucus of Parliament, have commemorated the 2026 International Women’s Day with outreach activities aimed at mentoring young girls and supporting vulnerable children.
The event, held under the theme “Give to Gain,” was marked by visits to Labone Girls Technical Institute at Osu and the Street Academy at the Arts Centre in Accra.

During the visit to Labone Girls Technical Institute, members of the delegation held a mentoring session with students, sharing their personal journeys and experiences in public service. They encouraged the students to remain focused on their education and emulate positive role models to achieve success in their future careers.
The delegation later visited the Street Academy, where they interacted with pupils, students and teachers as part of efforts to inspire and motivate young people.
Members of LiPS and the Women’s Caucus also toured the clinic attached to the school, gaining insight into the health services available to students at the institution.
The outreach forms part of efforts by the Ladies in Parliamentary Service and the Women’s Caucus to empower young people and promote the values of mentorship, education and leadership among girls and vulnerable youth in society.
