The National Service Authority (NSA) has directed all National Service Personnel (NSPs) posted to institutions under the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) to continue reporting to work despite the ongoing strike by the association.
CLOGSAG began its industrial action on March 9, 2026, over the government’s failure to improve the conditions of service for its members.
In a statement issued on Thursday, March 12, 2026, the NSA clarified that National Service Personnel are not part of the strike action and are therefore expected to continue performing their duties.
“The National Service Authority wishes to inform all National Service Personnel currently deployed to institutions under the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana that they are not parties to the ongoing industrial action declared by the association,” the statement said.
The Authority emphasised that NSPs are not members of CLOGSAG and are therefore not covered by the strike.
“The Authority wishes to emphasise that National Service Personnel are not members of CLOGSAG and therefore not covered by the strike action,” it added.
According to the NSA, all personnel posted to affected institutions are required to continue reporting to their assigned workplaces and carry out their duties as expected.
“Accordingly, all National Service Personnel serving in institutions under CLOGSAG are required to continue reporting to their respective places of posting and carry out their assigned duties as expected,” the Authority stated.
The NSA also urged the personnel to remain committed to their national service and support the institutions where they have been deployed.
“Management therefore urges all affected NSPs to remain committed to their national duty and offer their services in support of the institutions to which they have been assigned,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, the National Labour Commission (NLC) had earlier invited both the government and CLOGSAG to a hearing on March 11, 2026, but the leadership of the association failed to attend the meeting. The Commission has since rescheduled the hearing to March 18.
The NSA expressed appreciation to National Service Personnel for their continued cooperation and dedication to national development.
