The Library of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) is set to mark this year’s National Chocolate Day with a campus-wide celebration aimed at combining learning with recreation.
The event, dubbed the Library Chocolate Day Celebration, will take place on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. across four library locations — the Osagyefo Library, North Campus Library, Central Campus Library, and the Braille Library.
According to the UEW Library, the celebration forms part of activities to commemorate National Chocolate Day while creating awareness about the range of library resources, services, and user support initiatives available to the university community.
Activities lined up for the day include free chocolate tasting, a hot chocolate corner, interactive games and quizzes, photo sessions, and music to entertain participants. The programme will also feature talks on library resources and services, as well as a special session on the health benefits of cocoa, highlighting Ghana’s globally renowned cocoa industry.
The Library says the event is designed to attract students, faculty, and staff in an informal setting, encouraging greater engagement with library services beyond traditional academic use.
Members of the university community have been invited to take part in the celebration, which blends education with leisure in a relaxed campus atmosphere.
Organisers say the initiative underscores the Library’s commitment to making learning spaces more accessible, engaging, and responsive to user needs.
With the promise of chocolate, conversation, and knowledge-sharing, participants are encouraged to “come for the chocolate and leave enriched with knowledge and experience.”
