The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has cut sod for the commencement of seventeen major educational infrastructure projects across the Ho West District.
The ceremony, held at Tsito Awudome Senior High School (AWUSCO), forms part of a district-wide infrastructure expansion drive aimed at addressing congestion, accommodation deficits and inadequate teaching facilities.
In his remarks, Hon. Gunu stated that the projects reflect government’s commitment to expanding access to quality education and improving learning conditions across the district.
He explained that the intervention is being executed through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), which is completing abandoned projects while initiating new ones to close critical infrastructure gaps nationwide.
According to him, the facilities will significantly enhance accommodation, security and academic delivery, particularly in senior high and technical institutions experiencing rising enrolment.
The Minister further stressed the importance of strict supervision and monitoring to ensure the projects are completed on schedule and to specification.
MP Assures End to Double Track at AWUSCO
The Member of Parliament for Ho West, Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for prioritising educational development in the constituency.
He assured residents that the infrastructure expansion would help end the double-track system at AWUSCO by next year, once the new dormitory and classroom blocks are completed.

Hon. Bedzrah said the projects will directly improve teaching and learning outcomes, reduce overcrowding and enhance student welfare.
