Mawuli School in Ho has marked its 75th Anniversary in grand style, with the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, joining staff, students, alumni, and dignitaries to celebrate the milestone and announce major infrastructure upgrades for schools nationwide.
The colourful ceremony, held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, brought together old students, traditional leaders, parents, and officials from the Ghana Education Service (GES) to honour the school’s enduring legacy of academic excellence and discipline.
As part of the celebrations, Hon. Iddrisu cut sod for the construction of a 650-bed dormitory for both boys and girls — a project designed to ease accommodation pressure and improve learning conditions at the school.
In his address, the Minister commended Mawuli School for its remarkable contributions to education in the Volta Region and beyond, describing it as a model of academic distinction and moral training. He also announced that government has earmarked GHC300 million in the 2026 national budget to upgrade senior high schools across the country under President John Dramani Mahama’s Reset Agenda for Education.
“Government is determined to raise the standards of all schools so that every Ghanaian child enjoys equal access to quality education,” Mr. Iddrisu affirmed.
The anniversary celebration was filled with colour and pride — featuring cultural performances, alumni speeches, and the unveiling of commemorative projects. Proud Mawulians showcased the school’s time-honoured values of discipline, integrity, and excellence, pledging continued support for its development.
The event concluded with renewed calls for collaboration among stakeholders to sustain the school’s legacy and ensure that Mawuli School remains a beacon of quality education in Ghana.
