The University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC) has appointed Prof. Eric Opoku Mensah as its new Acting Vice-Chancellor, effective February 8, 2024.
Prof. Mensah succeeds the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwamena Kwansah-Aidoo, who is retiring from the position.
In a statement released on February 15, 2024, UniMAC emphasized Prof. Mensah’s extensive experience and expertise in higher education management. Prior to his appointment, Prof. Mensah served as the Deputy Rector and subsequently as the Rector of the Institute of Journalism, a constituent institute of the University.
UniMAC expressed confidence in Prof. Mensah’s leadership, stating that they believe the institution will continue to thrive and maintain its esteemed reputation under his guidance.
“Prof. Opoku Mensah brings a wealth of experience and expertise in higher education management to this role, having served as the Deputy Rector and later, Rector of the Institute of Journalism, a constituent institute of the University. We are confident that under his capable leadership, UniMAC will continue to thrive and uphold its rightful reputation,” the statement read.
The appointment of Prof. Eric Opoku Mensah as Acting Vice-Chancellor marks a significant transition for UniMAC, with expectations high for the institution’s continued growth and excellence under his stewardship.
