The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a two-day mid-term break for all public basic schools across the country, from Monday, June 8, 2026, to Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
The break forms part of the approved academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic year and is expected to provide pupils and teachers with a brief period of rest before academic work resumes.
All public kindergartens, primary schools, and junior high schools are expected to observe the break and resume classes on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
The mid-term recess is a regular feature of the school calendar and is intended to support the well-being of both learners and teachers while maintaining effective teaching and learning throughout the term.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to take note of the dates and ensure that their wards return to school promptly when classes resume.
The announcement affects public basic schools nationwide and comes as schools continue academic activities for the current term.
