Francisca Lamini, the former Keta Senior High Technical School (KETASCO) student who captured national attention during the 2021 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), has graduated Summa Cum Laude, the highest academic distinction, from Harvard University.
Francisca earned the honour after completing a pre-med degree at the prestigious Ivy League institution in the United States.
The achievement was announced by media personality Berla Mundi, who took to social media to celebrate Francisca’s academic success and commend her years of hard work and dedication.
“Guess who just graduated Summa Cum Laude (highest honours) from Harvard with a pre-med degree? Francisca Lamini from NSMQ fame,” Berla Mundi wrote.
She attributed Francisca’s success to years of perseverance and the support of family and loved ones.
“She has been working so hard over the years with our big sister Angela by her side, cheering her on and encouraging her in every way possible. Today, we thank God for seeing her through. We await the next chapter. Proud of you girl,” she added.
Francisca became a household name in Ghana after representing KETASCO in the 2021 NSMQ, where she emerged as one of the competition’s standout contestants and inspired many young girls to pursue careers in science and medicine.
Her graduation from Harvard with the university’s highest academic honour marks another significant milestone in her academic journey and has been widely celebrated by Ghanaians both at home and abroad.
The achievement further cements Francisca’s reputation as one of Ghana’s brightest young scholars and a role model for students aspiring to excel on the global stage.
Summa Cum Laude is awarded to students who graduate with the highest level of academic excellence, making Francisca’s accomplishment one of the most prestigious honours attainable at Harvard University.
