The State Insurance Company (SIC) Ltd. has donated Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment valued at GHS101,000 to the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) to support teaching and learning.
The items were presented on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the University’s main campus in Ho by a delegation from SIC led by its Managing Director, Mr. Agyenim Boateng, together with other top executives of the company.
The equipment includes four HP printers, five Epson projectors and two 75-inch Samsung television sets, which are expected to enhance lecture delivery, improve student engagement and strengthen academic administration.
The items were formally received by the Vice-Chancellor of UHAS, Professor Lydia Aziato, in the presence of the Registrar, Ms. Yaa Amankwa Opuni, and other members of the University’s management.
Expressing appreciation for the gesture, Professor Aziato commended SIC for its continued support to the University and its commitment to helping address critical academic needs.
She explained that UHAS has been facing challenges relating to teaching space and instructional materials, which have impacted enrolment and the broader teaching and learning environment.
According to her, the donation was both timely and transformative, noting that the equipment would significantly improve classroom instruction and help address key academic constraints.
The Registrar, Ms. Yaa Amankwa Opuni, also expressed gratitude to the SIC team and assured them that the equipment would be used efficiently and maintained properly to achieve measurable academic outcomes.
For his part, Mr. Agyenim Boateng reaffirmed SIC’s commitment to supporting institutions that contribute to national development, particularly in the health sector.
He indicated that the donation forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy, which focuses on strengthening institutions that play vital roles in national progress.
Mr. Boateng also commended Professor Aziato for her leadership and the strategic direction of UHAS.
The ceremony was attended by the Director of ICT at UHAS, Mr. Patrick De Souza, and other senior members of the University community, underscoring the importance of the equipment to the institution’s digital infrastructure and academic delivery.
The donation highlights the enduring partnership between SIC Ltd. and UHAS and reflects the company’s continued investment in supporting higher education and capacity building in Ghana.
