The Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation has upgraded 50 Post Offices as part of its e-Services expansion.
Twenty-five of the post offices received infrastructure improvements to boost their e-service delivery capabilities while the other 25 were renovated to become e-service centers.
This initiative is a component of the World Bank-funded e-Transform project, which aims to modernise and expand electronic services across Ghana.
The project aligns with the country’s broader strategy of leveraging Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to enhance government service delivery and promote digital inclusion.
The upgraded post offices are strategically positioned to ensure wider accessibility, particularly in areas that were previously underserved.
New equipment installed in the facilities enables online transactions, electronic communication and other digital services.
The project focuses on creating an environment for e-government and business, upgrading the national identification system, expanding ICT applications in health and education sectors, and completing e-applications started under the previous e-Ghana project.
It also includes project management support to ensure effective implementation through coordination, communication, procurement, financial management and monitoring.
