The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has suspended its affiliation and mentorship relationship with Royal Nursing College in Tafo-Kumasi following the revocation of the college’s accreditation by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
The decision was announced in a press release issued by the University on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
According to the statement, the suspension became necessary due to the college’s failure to comply with regulatory directives and instructions issued by UCC, the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission.
The University stated that it remains committed to maintaining high standards of academic quality assurance and regulatory compliance across all programmes offered under its affiliation and mentorship arrangements.
UCC further indicated that it would continue working with relevant authorities to ensure that all academic programmes run by its affiliated institutions operate within approved regulatory frameworks.
Meanwhile, the University has encouraged the Royal Nursing College to take steps to comply with the required regulatory directives.
To protect the academic progress of students, UCC announced that it has initiated a teach-out programme for current Level 300 students to ensure they are able to complete their studies without disruption.
