UEW To Host 2016 GUSA Games

The 24th Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games will be hosted by the University of Education, Winneba from Monday January 4, 2016 – Saturday January 16, 2016.

At this tournament, teams from 7 public universities in Ghana; University of Ghana, Legon (UG), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), University of Cape Coast (UCC), University for Development Studies (UDS), University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), University of Professional Studies, ACCRA (UPSA), and the host-University of Education, Winneba (UEW), will compete for the ultimate Gold, pride and honour in both men and women’s sporting disciplines.

These disciplines include football, volleyball, basketball, handball, table tennis, hockey, netball, racket games, and athletics (track and field events).

Goalball was introduced in the last edition as an exhibition game for the first time since the inception of GUSA Games in 1966. It was meant to show the role of students with special needs in sports. Participating universities were: University of Ghana, University of Cape Coast and University of Education, Winneba.
