“We are very grateful to the Lord for such a victory having lost 13-3 to them in September. I am really proud of my team mates and the technical handlers.” -Glen Anokye (Deputy Captain, Titan SC).
The match started with Idas pressuring from the blast of the whistle to winning an early scrum 5metres from the Titans try line but it was Titans who drew first blood when captain Eric Tettegah broke the Idas defense to score from 20metres out. The kick was beautifully converted by Theophilus Opai.
This was after winger Nana Gyan Gyimah had made a fantastic run down the touch line to score but denied the points by the touch judge. Gyan's foot hit the touch line before grounding the ball, according to Benson Botchwey.
The try was short-lived as Idas bounced back with a beautiful reply which they however failed to convert ending the first half 5-7, advantage Titans SC.
The second half saw Titans scoring again through a quick hand from Collins Ofosu to Marshall Nortey who side stepped two defenders in succession to touch down but Theophilus Opai missed the conversion to keep the score at 5-12. Again, this was short-lived as Idas full back, Jalilu Laari added his name to the score sheet after finding a loop hole in the Titans defense which kicker, Nathaniel Addy could not convert once again.
After 80 minutes of good rugby from both teams, it was Titans SC who won 12 – 10 against Idas SC.
