Despite these feat, Odotei still believes Ghana football has only gotten worse.
“Kwesi has done something but he has destroyed Ghana football. What is our performance in Africa in the past 10 years? How much does the average Ghanaian footballer earn? How many people go to the stadium? What sort of value are we getting from sponsorship?
“Who watches the football? If your cousin or brother is playing football in Ghana, will you encourage him? How much will he earn as a footballer? Where lies the future? Can you tell me one thing that’s good about Ghana football apart from going to the World Cup?” Odotei quizzed on Ultimate FM.
“For the last few years, no one has put more money in football than Togbe Afede. But he’s putting his money in a system that is in perpetual decline. Football in Ghana is in perpetual decline. There’s the need for some revolution to change the system. Yet these same FA people are reluctant to implement the club licensing system because they know the club licensing will restrict the kind of people who manage our football and some people will obviously not be happy about that,” Odotei told Benjamin Yamoah on the Ultimate Sports Zone.
