RUSSIA 2018 FIFA WORLD CUP: The Big Guys Stamped Their Authority Over The Underdogs

After a disappointing first leg match results for most of the big football nations in African football, the second leg match saw them stamped their authority on proceedings to progress to the group stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia qualifiers.

The likes of Ghana, Nigeria, and Egypt managed to progress ahead of perceived underdogs Comoros, Swaziland and Chad respectively.

The qualification competition for Russia 2018 started with 53 African countries entering the race. 13 of them were eliminated in the first round, and a further 20 found their hopes of making it to the finals ended after the second round. That leaves 20 teams for whom the dream of a place at the finals continues.

Gabon, Zambia, Uganda, DR Congo, Morocco, Guinea, Libya, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, Congo, Egypt, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Algeria, Cape Verde, Senegal and Mali.
