The completed facility will include the pitch, tartan track around it, changing rooms for players and washrooms.
The facility will be named after him with a bronze statue erected in his honour.
Asamoah Gyan entered Accra Academy as a fresher in 1999 and completed in 2002.
This is not the only charitable activity he has undertaken this year. He gave $30,000 to the Black Queens for winning Gold at the 2015 All African Games, his foundation commissioned a water system for Wenchi Township in March. He also donated $15 000 to the Korle Bu Heart Foundation.
