The National Under-17 team, the Black Starlets has qualified to the finals African Youth Championship in Gabon.

It was their first qualification to the finals of the competition after Gambia 2005.

The Twinkle Twinkle little Stars beat Niger 6-5 on penalty shoot-out following 0-0 draw within the 90 minutes.

After a disappointing first leg match results for most of the big football nations in African football, the second leg match saw them stamped their authority on proceedings to progress to the group stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia qualifiers.

The likes of Ghana, Nigeria, and Egypt managed to progress ahead of perceived underdogs Comoros, Swaziland and Chad respectively.

Claude Le Roy Steps Down As Head Coach Of Congo

Former Black Stars coach Claude Le Roy has quit his job as the head coach of Republic of Congo after helping them to progress into the third phase of the Africa zone 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

The French coach told AFP on Tuesday that "After two great years here I've decided to move on to other adventures," the much travelled 67-year-old explained after a 6-4 aggregate win over Ethiopia saw them through round two of regional World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana has recorded a convincing 2-0 victory against Comoros in the Fifa 2018 World Cup, second leg qualifier on Tuesday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

In the second half Ghana continued to dominate and pressing hard for another goal after Mubarak Wakaso put the Black Stars Ahead through a superb free kick.

Wakaso, Jordan Spare Black Stars Embarrassment

Ghana has recorded a convincing 2-0 victory against Comoros in the Fifa 2018 World Cup, second leg qualifier on Tuesday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

Mubarak Wakaso and Jordan Ayew scored the two goals for Ghana in each half to see the Black Stars progress 2-0 on aggregate to the next stage of the qualifier.
