Keta SHTS Banned From Sprite Basketball Championship For Two Years

Keta Senior High Technical School (SHTS) has been handed a two-year banned from participating in Sprite basketball competition after allegations of fielding three unqualified players in the game against Mfantsipm School were found to be true.

A petition submitted by Mfantsipim School to RITE Sports Limited, organisers of the competition said the three players were in the final year as per the school’s team sheet presented during 2016 edition of the competition.

The names of the unqualified players are:

Nutsugah Alloysius

Dogbe Cornelious

Kumedzro Ebenezer

Keta SHTS and Mfantsipim School were drawn in Group A at this year's tournament. Although Keta SHTS beat Mfantsipim School 16-13 in their encounter at the group stage, Mfantsipim School were awarded three points after the allegations against Keta SHTS for fielding unqualified players were found to be true.
