AFCON 2017: Cameroon Beat Ghana 2-0; Set Up Egypt Final

The Black Stars of Ghana have failed to reach the finals of this year's African Cup of Nations in Gabon.

The Stars lost to Cameroon 2-0 at the semi finals on Thursday, 2nd February, 2017.

This ends Ghana's campaign to win the coveted trophy that has eluded the country on several occasions for the past 35 years. Ghana was in the finals of the previous edition of the competitions but lost to Ivory Coast on penalties.

Michael Ngadeu-Ngadjui scored the first goal in the 72nd minute of the second half after a mix-up in Ghana’s defence.

In the quest to find a crucial equaliser, Ghana’s players were all in Cameroonians half, making Basogog to finish the game off with the second goal.

Cameroon will now face Egypt in the final while the Black Stars take on Burkina Faso in the third place playoff.
