Dr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, a Former Minister of Trade and Industry, has asked educational institutions to make conscious efforts to tap the rich expertise and experiences of their alumni in career choices and counselling of students.

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has, on Wednesday 30th August, 2017 launched its maiden edition of inter-university quiz and debate at the University of Ghana, Legon. 

The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) has called on the Government to, as a matter of urgency, engage stakeholders on their roles in the implementation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) Policy to ensure its success.

An educationist, Mrs Ewura-Abena Ahwoi has called on parents to introduce inter-generational reading in homes to inculcate reading habits among children.

She said: “In the olden days our elders used to gather children especially in the night to tell them stories and that sustain children interest in story telling as well as develop their reading habits”.

The General Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Mr. David Ofori Acheampong has cautioned teachers to avoid the temptation of forging documents for promotions and salary increases.

In the early days of university education in Ghana, students admitted into any university enjoyed virtually everything for free. These include free tuition, accommodation, books and meals.

The Ghana Education Service has reassigned 16 of regional and divisional directors of the service across the country.

Only two regions; Eastern and Northern, were not affected in the shake up which takes effect from September 1, 2017.

Delegates from Colleges of Education in the Volta Region have converged at Peki for their 22nd Annual Delegates' Congress of TTAG-Volta. The congress, which commenced on Monday, 21st August, 2017 at Peki College of Education was under the theme: “Mobilising For Ghana's Future: The Need For Practical Oriented Teacher Education”.
