Kwame Bonah Wins GRASAG National Presidency In An Election Boycotted By Some Member Institutions

Mr Kwame Nana Bonah from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has been declared President-elect of the Graduate Students' Association of Ghana (GRASAG) National at the 23rd Annual Delegates Congress held on KNUST campus.

Mr Bonah went into the election unopposed as his competitor Mr Nana Asafo-Adjei was disqualified at the latter stage of Congress.

This action did not go well with supporters and sympathizers of Mr Asafo-Adjei which led to some nine member institutions boycotting the elections.

These institutions are University of Ghana, KNUST, UEW, Methodist University College of Ghana, GIJ, UMaT, UENR, Ghana Telecom University College and UDS.

Subsequently, the presidents of some of these institutions declared they have, with immediate effect withdrawn their membership from the association.

They described the elections as illegal, and vowed to form a new association of graduate students.

However, some individuals of these institutions voted in the elections.
