UNILAG Lecturers To Sack Students From Lectures If...

In order to ensure full implementation of their new dress code for students, the management of University of Lagos in Nigeria, has given the mandate to lecturers and administrators to exclude students from academic activities if they are not properly dressed.

In a circular pasted on noticeboards on campus, the management of the school noted that lecturers and administrators now have the power to either correct or exclude students from lectures and any other official school business when they are not properly dressed.

“Lecturers and administrators are empowered to correct/exclude students from lectures and official business when they are not properly dressed,” the notice reads.

The new dress code was issued after the school authorities say they have observed that some male and female students dress indecently on campus, even to lectures.

The circular also stated that indecent dressing do not reflect the seriousness, dignity and character moulding nature of the academic enterprise.

The school is however, soliciting the support of parents to ensure that students dress decently at all times.
