Ricks Institute Marks UN Day

[Mohammed Rabiu Adam, Monrovia, Liberia] The 72nd anniversary of the United Nation ceremony in the Republic of Liberia was observed by Ricks Institute with speeches from the students representing various Nations.

Delivery a speech on behalf of the representative of UN in Liberia, Mr Bunfree Adile emphasized on the significant of human rights.

"When we achieve human rights, human dignity for all, we will build peaceful, sustainable and justice world. On this United Nation Day, let us, we the people make this vision reality"


In an exclusive interview with the Principal of the school, Rev Dr Olu Q Menjay on the rational behind the organisation of the program, he states that, "the rational is part of the learning goal to expose our students to the world so they can learn about the issues of the world. The issues the world leaders are discussing"

"... to be aware of where we are and to encourage them (students) that peace is what we need in the world" he added.

The program witnessed presentations from countries such as United States of America, United Kingdom, Syria, Sierra Leone, North Korea and Liberia.

Other countries were Zimbabwe, Germany, Venezuela, Nigeria, China, Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

In attendance were other schools in the country. The community cultural troupe were as usual present to display their rich dance which sent the entire audience in the auditorium surging forward to catch glimpse the movement.
