Ghanaians Charged To Avoid Abuse Of Medications

Medical Practitioners say the abuse of medication and wrongful application of herbal medicine are the major challenges hindering the fight against kidney diseases in the country.

According to the Deputy Director of Nursing Services of the Renal Dialysis Unit at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Margaret Agyemfa Acheampong, patients ought to seek the right information as to the appropriate treatment for kidney problems.

She said treatment of kidney problems is expensive and this calls for support from all.

Mrs. Agyemfa-Acheampong said today (March 9), being World Kidney Day, is a great opportunity to create awareness about the causes and ways to deal with kidney problems.
