UEW Theatre Arts Department To Stage Zulu Sofola's "Wedlock of the Gods"

The Theatre Arts Department of the University of Education Winneba (main campus) is back again with another captivating live performance of Zulu Sofola's "Wedlock of the Gods"

Wedlock of the Gods is a classical piece of African literature that tackles the subject of taboo and arranged marriages withing the traditional context of pre - colonial Africa. It explores love, culture, culture, gender politics, superstition and women's right.

The play is directed by Emmanuel Nyarko, a final year theatre arts student of the University as his project work. It will be stage starting from the 3rd to 5th of March 2016. 7 pm each night at the Amu theatre.

The theatre arts department has over the years produce students who are doing well in the movie industry with specialities in acting, set designing, directing among others.

Since the weekend  marks the 59th Independence Day of our beloved country, Saturday is likely to witness a massive patronage.
