Staged on Sunday, 12th March, 2017, the Sobolo + Chicken Poetry Show is a fusion of great music, drama, comedy, dance and spoken word.
In its second year, the show, gained popularity among students attracting over 600 audience to this year's show to experience a night of great poetry performances from Gombilla the poet and Ghana's finest poet, Chief Moomen of the Heritage Series fame- producers of Wogbe jeke.
The show started with an acapella group which mesmerized the audience with never heard renditions of popular songs with a touch of new, fresh sound and unique style. They gave each song they performed a new identity.
Soon after, Jake the juggler rocked the stage with his juggling and acrobatics displays. He performed hula hooping, juggled four balls, whirled around a pan and laptop on stage.
Musical performances from Six Strings and Crespo got the audience yearning for more of their soothing songs.
Khemikal was at his best and cracked many ribs with his funny jokes.
Poetry has always been an intimate affair between the performer and the audience, and the best way to experience this, is to see and hear it performed live. That is exactly what the audience experienced when Chief Moomen and Gombilla the poet mounted the stage to perform.
Chief Moomen mounted the stage and gave his fans a delightful treat performing his patriotic piece about Ghana.
The man of the moment, Gombilla the poet served the audience with a sterling performance exhibiting great stage craft, uniqueness and great talent.
The poetry performances were on various themes such as homosexuality, love, politics, Africa, and some sought to address societal issues such as child marriage and falling standards of Ghana's educational system.
The show was organized by ANDY.COM Entertainment with the support from DYNAMIC THEATRE with the headline artiste been GOMBILLA THE POET.
The organizer vowed to make the next edition even more bigger and entertaining.
