Work on New “Night Market” has commenced.

Work has already started on the construction of a new “night market” for University of Ghana students. The night market which serves as a food vending and general provisions point for many of the students and staff was wrecked down in a rainstorm last month.

Ghcampus.com has learnt that the building materials for the reconstruction were presented by the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to the Physical Development and Municipal Services Directorate (PDMSD) through an initiative of the Student Representative Council.

The market women have now moved closer to the International Students Hostel in order to provide their services to students.
Students will for the mean time eat under makeshift shades provided by the market women until the construction is completed which most people describe as uncomfortable. "Eating here is a bit uncomfortable because it is too open and everybody gets to see you eat" one of the patrons said. "As you can see it is blazingly hot already. Eating here is not as convenient as the old place", another asserted.

It is however not known how long the students will have to endure eating under this condition.
