Vice-President Amissah-Arthur Breaks Ground For Construction Of 1000-Bed Students’ Hostel At University Of Ghana

Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, has broken ground for the commencement of the construction work on a 64 million dollar project at the University of Ghana, Legon.

The project which consists of five colleges to boost the collegiate system and a one thousand bed students’ hostel, is being funded jointly by the University and Africa Integras.

It is on a Build, Operate and Transfer basis for 25 years, which implies that the private company will be allowed to build and operate the facility for 25 years after which it will be transferred to the University to full control and management..

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Amissah-Arthur urged universities and public agencies to adopt new ways of putting up infrastructure.
