UPSA SRC Holds Maiden "Pro Talk"

[By: Daniel Addo,] The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA) has held its maiden edition of “Pro Talk”, a professional talk program aimed at grooming professionals for a better tomorrow.

This was held on Wednesday, 22nd February, 2017 under the theme: ‘Raising An Army Of World Changers’.

Welcoming students and other participants, the SRC President, Mr. Sidney Quartey stated that, the mission of 'Pro Talk' was to empower and groom young generational leaders and professionals in order to change Africa.

Speaking at the program, the Executive President of Osei Kusi Foundation, Dr. Kofi osei Kusi stressed on the need for students to build positive self confidence in order to overcome many challenges they may be confonted with in their quest to become world changers.

He again encouraged them to to aim for the top despite all the challenges that may come their way.

Mr Jeremiah Buabeng, a motivational speaker and an author, also engaged students on the subject of overcoming competition and urged them to develop the habit of reading outside their course of study in order to give them an urge over their competitors.

On his part, Mr Richmond Kwame Frimpong, MD of Beige Pension Trust advised students to develop the spirit of self leadership to enable them lead others. This, he said, invloves discovering of one's purpose and working to achieve that purpose. 

He said one needs to be intentionally driven and action orinted.

Some students who were present at the program, expressed their excitement and applauded the SRC for such a wonderful exposure.
