Mr Opare intimated that aspirants who will successfully go through tomorrow's vetting process will join other stakeholders including the security, legal advisor, past electoral commissioner etc. for a Stakeholders’ Forum at which possible issues and regulations regarding this year's elections will be deliberated upon to ensure that the upcoming election is free, fair and credible.
"We will be having a Stakeholder's Forum to deliberate on issues to make this year's election credible and fair", he said.
He added that, after a consensus has been reached, aspirants will be required to append their signatures to this agreement which will guide their conducts during and after the elections. This agreement will also bind them to accept the outcomes of the April 21 SRC general elections.
He again used the opportunity to justify the EC's decision to raise the vetting pass mark to 70% saying, 'the basic underlying reason is , we want it to be more competitive and also ensure that we scrutinise the aspirants very well to bring the best for the student populace.’
His message to all aspirants is to work hard as he is working hard to ensure a free and fair election.
